Infrared technology touch screen

nfrared technology touch screens are composed of infrared emitting and receiving sensing elements installed on the outer frame of the touch screen. On the surface of the screen, an infrared detection network is formed. Any touching object can change the infrared on the contact point to realize touch screen operation. The implementation principle of infrared touch screen is similar to that of surface acoustic wave touch. It uses infrared emitting and receiving sensing elements. These elements form an infrared detection network on the surface of the screen. The object of the touch operation (such as a finger) can change the infrared of the contact point, which is then converted into the coordinate position of the touch to realize the response of the operation. On the infrared touch screen, the circuit board devices arranged on the four sides of the screen have infrared emitting tubes and infrared receiving tubes, which form a horizontal and vertical cross infrared matrix.

Infrared touch screen is an infrared matrix densely distributed in the X and Y directions in front of the screen. It detects and locates the user's touch by constantly scanning whether the infrared rays are blocked by objects. As shown in the figure "Working Principle of Infrared Touch Screen", this touch screen is installed with an outer frame in front of the display. The outer frame is designed with a circuit board, so that infrared transmitting tubes and infrared receiving tubes are arranged on the four sides of the screen, one by one corresponding to form a horizontal and vertical cross infrared matrix. After each scan, if all infrared pairs of tubes are connected, the green light is on, indicating that everything is normal.

When there is a touch, the finger or other object will block the horizontal and vertical infrared rays passing through the position. When the touch screen scans and finds and confirms that one infrared ray is blocked, the red light will be on, indicating that the infrared ray is blocked and there may be a touch. At the same time, it will immediately switch to another coordinate and scan again. If it is found that another axis also has an infrared ray blocked, the yellow light will be on, indicating that a touch is found, and the positions of the two infrared tubes found to be blocked will be reported to the host. After calculation, the position of the touch point on the screen is determined.

Infrared touch screen products are divided into two types: external and internal. The installation method of the external type is very simple and is the most convenient among all touch screens. Just use glue or double-sided tape to fix the frame in front of the display. The external touch screen can also be fixed to the display by a hook, which is convenient for disassembly without leaving any traces.
