The sample we made is a 15-inch outdoor display with a brightness of 1000 nits. The use environment of this product needs to face direct sunlight and there is no shielding.

In the old version, customers reported that they found a partial black screen phenomenon during use. After technical analysis by our R&D team, the reason is that the liquid crystal molecules in the LCD screen will be destroyed due to direct exposure to strong ultraviolet rays, that is, ultraviolet rays disturb the liquid crystal molecules of the LCD screen, resulting in black spots or partial black screen. Although the LCD screen will resume normal display function after the sun fades, it still brings great trouble to users and the experience is very poor.

We tried different solutions and finally found the perfect solution after a month of work.

We use bonding technology to integrate a layer of anti-UV film between the LCD screen and the touch glass. The function of this film is to prevent ultraviolet rays from disturbing the liquid crystal molecules.

After this design, after the finished product is made, the test result of the test equipment is: the percentage of anti-ultraviolet rays reaches 99.8 (see the figure below). This function completely protects the LCD screen from damage caused by strong ultraviolet rays. As a result, the service life of the LCD screen is greatly improved, and the user experience is also greatly improved.

And surprisingly, after adding this layer of film, the clarity, resolution and color chromaticity of the display are not affected at all.

Therefore, once this function was launched, it was welcomed by many customers, and more than 5 new orders for UV-proof displays have been received within two weeks.
